In my final semester at Iowa State, I was on a lot of different interdisciplinary teams and was inspired to create a tool for my senior Capstone project that would allow designers to better understand themselves and the other people on their team.
The Myers-Briggs personality assessment was the most well-known and accessible on campus and was already being used in certain classes to form better groups for projects, so my goal became taking these researched definitions and descriptions of the personality types and translating them in a new way.
In the prototyping phase I decided to create a deck of cards called "Pocket Personalities" that could be easily transported, user-friendly, and adaptable for each team's needs. I explored team dynamics to create the content and designs of these cards while helping run the 2019 College of Design (d)innovation (d)dares.
I'd like to continue to use Pocket Personalities to improve social capital on teams so while this Capstone project has ended; the research, exploration, and application of the project have just begun.
